Hallo wer einmal ein FreeNAS installiert hat. Konnte eine elegante Monitoring Aufbau um die Interaktivität der verschiedensten Dienste zu druchschauen und verstehen - learning by doing. I think FreeNAS could be the answer to all my dreams, but I'm finding the learning curve is pretty steep. We use FreeNas here for some of our data storage and, i wont lie, there is a bit of a learning curve to get FreeNas to play nicely with windows and domains in general. I'm using an old computer as a NAS using FreeNAS, and after some tweaking everything is dandy. Hopefully you guys can help me as I go along and I can help those of you who might want to try this with your system. It has a bit of a learning curve to set up but you can install it on any number of hardware configurations and set various services (SMB, AFP etc…) as needed. I will be posting as I continue building me Freenas and learning from the input I get from this forum. Posted on April 7, 2011 by will. I've got some of the functionality of my new FreeNAS box working so I'd tried to copy over my media collection from my old Ubuntu file server. In this article by Gary Sims, we will see how user management is done in FreeNAS. Have you checked out FreeNAS ( http://freenas.org )?
